![]() ![]() Ryan Bradley's handling of "The Doubtful Guest" is a stroll through the macabre done with ease. The ensemble's handling of the song "The Insect God" is deliciously gloomy and full of fire. In "The Sinking Spell," featuring Norma Shepardson and Cherie McKinnon and Melissa Reed, the mood and atmosphere is briskly macabre, defined and bold. The large troupe shifts and glides in and out of roles with ease and relish. The production takes the audience on a tour through Gorey country where the macabre and the mundane freely mingle, producing often peculiar results.Īct One has it share of these, with selections from "Limericks From the Listing Attic" to "The Blue Aspic." Leya Jeffers provides the narration, which melds all these together with energy and conviction. ![]() ![]() The Viking Theater Company at Wareham High School's current production takes advantage of this with "Gorey Stories," a musical entertainment conceived and adapted for the stage by Stephen Currens and music by David Aldrich. Edward Gorey's sense of the macabre and the bizarre has often provided a rollicking good time for those like their fun with a twist. ![]()
